Madison Art Society Members' Show and Events


The Madison Art Society presents their annual Members' Show at the Scranton Memorial Library, 801 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT from February 1-26, 2016.  The exhibit, showcasing work from the society's 250 eligible members, includes art in all fine art media; painting, drawing and sculpture.  

In conjunction with the show there are several events planned which are open to the public and free of charge. All events will be held at the Scranton Memorial Library.

February 7, 2016:  Opening reception in the community room from 1:30 - 3:30  p.m.

February 17, 2016: Art Lecture by Joy Pepe, Madonna and Child, Universal Images in Art 6:30 p.m. in the community room

February 21: Critique of selected works in the exhibit by watercolorist Mike Eagle, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.Community room

The Madison Art Society is dedicated to the promotion of the arts along the shoreline.  The society offers artists outdoor painting experiences through their plein air painting group and indoor still life painting in winter studio.  The public is welcome at the 7 lectures and demonstrations offered throughout the year.  Members have many exhibition opportunities, both indoors and at outside summer venues.  The society is committed to supporting the community by offering education, contributing to the library and sponsoring a scholarship through The Shoreline Arts Alliance.
