Oil painters Jill Beecher Matthew and Phyllis Bevington are the Madison Town Hall Artists for July and August

Oil painters Jill Beecher Matthew and Phyllis Bevington will be exhibiting their paintings at the Madison Town Hall, 8 Campus Drive, Madison, CT.  Their brilliant works rendered by brush and palette knife are available for viewing during regular business hours during the months of July and August.

Jill Beecher Matthew
Jill Beecher Matthew is an oil painter who uses palette knives to create her works of art, enabling her to bring luscious texture, vibrant color, and brilliant light into her paintings.  Working both en plein air and in the studio, she especially enjoys painting the landscapes of New England and Florida, and scenes from her travels to the west coast of Ireland.

Jill has mentored with accomplished artists in Connecticut, taken selected workshops and classes throughout the east coast, and studied the style and techniques of Henri Hensche at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, Mass, as well as with several of its alumni across the country.  Her works are displayed and sold in galleries in northern Florida and the CT shoreline.  To view Jill’s art please visit:   www.jillbeechermatthew.com

Phyllis Bevington
Phyllis, an accomplished oil painter, discovered art was not only her interest, but her passion while attending classes at the Lyme Academy of Fine Art.  While there she studied with Deane Keller, Dan Gheno and Lou Bonamarte.  She continued her education in classes and workshops, both locally and in New Mexico, Portugal, Madeira, France and Ireland.  She is a member of the Madison Art Society, the Lyme Art Association, and an elected artist at Essex Art Association.
